enough energy for 2,000 households

Our Courtyard Electricity

[The energy is generated on our solar panels and in the farm's own biogas plant.]

The biogas plant is largely fed with plant materials that we produce according to Bioland guidelines. The gas is used to generate heat, electricity, and valuable plant nutrients, which are returned to our circulatory system.

This is how we supply our cheese dairy and the stables with warm water. This saves us many thousands of liters of heating oil every year.

A closed loop is created!

The biogas plant

[Or how waste creates new energy.]

The large round tank of the biogas plant is located directly on our farm and is filled with our plant-produced materials. By excluding oxygen, the materials are broken down by bacteria - this process is called anaerobic digestion.

This is how biogas is produced, and from it, our very own farm energy, which supplies all our areas with heat and electricity!

As an additional byproduct, high-quality fertilizer is also produced - what more could you want?

Refrigeration for the cheese dairy

[Produced with our own farm electricity.]

The cold water is stored in a basin and can thus be used completely independently of electricity consumption. This means that the entire cooling cycle is regenerative – large load peaks in our farm cycle are prevented.
