Hi, I'm Thilo Metzger-Petersen
Responsible for the cheese dairy, farm shop and restaurant
After studying dairy food technology, I ended up in Italy, Ireland and Hamburg, among other places. There I expanded my knowledge of cheesemaking, delved into culinary arts, and worked as a chef. In 2015, I returned home - to Backensholz - to work there with my mother, the founder of the cheese dairy. As a family and business partners, we managed the generational transition well.
I live for good food and the moments that culinary experiences can bring. This love for enjoyment is accompanied by the ambition to give more to the world than I take.
Hi, I'm Jasper Metzger-Petersen
Responsible for Agriculture, Biogas Plant, and Kindergarten
After completing my vocational training as a farmer, I studied at the University of Göttingen. This provided the theoretical foundation and practical knowledge that drew me back to the family farm in 2011.
My time on the farm began with the ambition of taking over the business. Soon, the diverse problems, comprehensive projects, and challenges of managing a large team ignited the inner fire that now makes me passionate about the farm and farm life every day.
Since 2017, I have been the sole managing director of the agricultural business, and my ambitions and optimism lie in the future of a sustainable and environmentally friendly form of agriculture. The appeal lies in the daily challenges that evoke my ambition.
I want to show that there is no way into the future without agriculture.
