Hi, I'm Bente

... and at the farm, I take care of our online shop and everything you find about us online. As I come from an agricultural background myself and have a small hobby farm, I know many of our topics from my own experience. Together with our cheese experts, the agricultural team, and other colleagues, I incorporate their knowledge into exciting blog posts, sharing my enthusiasm for good cheese.

Thilo Metzger-Petersen

Thilo is the Managing Director of the cheese dairy and the son of its founder. Whether in the dairy, the farm shop, or the farm kitchen, he knows the products and their stories in detail and is happy to share this knowledge with our readers.

Jasper Metzger-Petersen

Jasper is the fourth generation to run the farm at Backensholzer Hof. As managing director of the farm and biogas plant, as well as head of our farm kindergarten, he combines tradition with a future-oriented view of sustainable farming.

Thore Dau

Thore (left) is a master cheesemaker and has been part of our team since 2015. Together with Michael Stöpke, he manages production and contributes his many years of experience in artisanal cheese making to our blog posts.

Kirsten Šubić

Kirsten has been part of our shipping department since 2010. With her many years of experience, she ensures that our cheese specialties arrive safely and fresh to our customers.

The idea behind the blog

Brand new – since June 2026 – we'll take you behind the scenes of Backensholzer Hof on our farm blog. Roughly once a week, we'll publish a new post about cheese, sustainable agriculture, excursion tips for your visit to the farm, and New Work – a topic we are actively shaping in our own working group.
